SYNOPSIS: 

During a dive in a remote French lake, two boys specialized in underwater exploration videos discover a house submerged in deep water. Their trip turns into a nightmare when they discover that the house was the scene of atrocious crimes.

REVIEW: 

Yet another reinterpretation of haunted houses but rather original because the ghosts emerge from the bottom of the abyss this time. A high-tension film that involves you in first person... together with the protagonists we will always be underwater and we will feel like we can't breathe, we will feel trapped without the possibility of resurfacing... Highly not recommended for those who suffer from hydrophobia. The film is technically excellent and visually very beautiful and even if the story is simple and the characters stereotyped it still does not bore, perhaps also because of the short duration. The underlying message is a criticism of today's world of social media that pushes us to film everything and feed it to the masses for a few more likes.
Nothing exceptional but enjoyable.

In my opinion, it seemed to keep a little history of Amityville. They used a Ouija board like back in the old Amityville Horror movie. This movie had hardly anything to do with Amityville except that it was in Amityville, NY. Other than that, this had really nothing to do with the history of the house at all. The soundtrack and music in the movie should have had some trace back to Amityville with as far as the theme. Some parts were cool and crazy. Altogether, this movie was ok. That is my review. It is short because I have nothing much else to say.

Horror satire on the world of contemporary art, I would say a "unique piece" in the panorama of the subgenre, set between the walls of luxurious American galleries. Sequel to "Candyman" from 1992, based on the story "The Forbidden" by Clive Barker which was in turn inspired by a popular belief. Candyman is an iconic character especially for African-American audiences, a sort of Freddy Krueger but with a big hook instead of blades. I loved the original film, but this one is not bad at all, a sharp and ruthless film, crossed by a constant and growing uneasiness, without an excessive use of splatter it is still visually hallucinatory. Excellent direction by the unknown Nia Da Costa and the performances of the cast.
