SYNOPSIS: 

Andy and Vicky try to protect their daughter Charlie, who has the mysterious and devastating power to generate fire with the power of thought alone, from the sights of a federal agency.

REVIEW: 

Based on Stephen King's novel, it had already been brought to the cinema in 1984, starring a very young Drew Barrymore arriving from the set of E.T., with terrible results. 40 years later, things are not better, after all we know that Blumhouse production specializes in low-budget horror, and it shows! From the special effects, to the acting, to the settings, everything is bland without ideas or emotions. The only thing that is saved from the film is the soundtrack by the great John Carpenter (who in '84 should have directed it, but who was unfortunately replaced).
Strangely, however, this latest version was very much liked by the literary father King, which is not at all obvious if we think about his negative opinion on other films based on his novels, above all "The Shining" by Stanley Kubrick.

Russell Crowe is becoming a darling of horror cinema and after the success of "The Pope's Exorcist" he returns in a cassock, but this time it is a fiction, in fact in the film Crowe plays himself... an actor in both physical and mental decline. The film is worth little but thanks to the good Russell we have fun... Especially watching him go from a depressed mood bordering on suicide to a diabolical and ruthless one of possessed, always very fascinating and effective. Beautiful photography.

Culinary horror that serves us a ferocious satire on social inequality and the vulgar opulence of the rich, mocking the world of conceptual/molecular cuisine where you eat very little and spend a lot. What should have been an exclusive dinner turns into carnage under the crazy direction of a great, funny and at the same time glacial Ralph Fiennes. The tension is growing and the twists follow one another repeatedly. Surprising until the last scene. All the actors are excellent. A must see.
