Doctor SleepMovie Review Direct sequel to Stanley Kubrick's cult film "The Shining" based on Stephen King's novel and always hated by him for the many liberties taken in the screenplay compared to the original text. Directed by Mike Flanagan, a horror expert (Oculus 2013). Unfortunately, the comparison with the 1980 film does not hold up. The narration is too classic and tasteless and the nostalgia factor does not fascinate as it would like, furthermore the film is too long and slow. But the many horror and supernatural scenes are of great quality and are truly disturbing, so much so that they gave me bad nightmares. The cast is good, although I do not... Read More

Hereditary - Evil runs in the familyMovie Review “Hereditary” is a literally "homemade" horror. The physical home, as a place of family life and as creative microcosm of Annie, and the metaphysical home, as a dreamlike symbol of the stability or instability of the Ego, are inextricably intertwined in a game of Chinese boxes : a husband , a son, a daughter, and a miniaturist job she loves. But also a bulky mother: Ellen. Annie has always been trying to fix her "home": and soon we realize that something, in addition to the ambivalent relationship between her and the now defunct Ellen, does not work. Starting from Charlie, an... Read More
Jeepers Creepers 3Movie Review Jeepers Creepers series. Thinking back on the progress and how we got to this point, a sequel had been in talks since before the second movie even found its way into theaters, but finding proper financing has always been an issue (and writer/director Victor Salva's sordid past didn't help matters). Over the years many ideas have been thrown around, like some parts of the film possibly taking place in western times (which might explain The Creeper's choice in clothing) and the more reported idea of the story taking place 23 years after the events of the last one. This idea, of course, is now believed to... Read More
