Jessica Cameron about her new film Mania
Horror Galore is very proud to present you an interview with the stunning beautiful actress Jessica Cameron. There's no word to say how happy we are to have her with us.
Q: Let's start with your last movie… tell us about that… do you have something to promote?
JC: MANIA is doing film festivals now. I am really proud of it. It's my "F*cked Up Lesbian Love Story".
How far would you go for the one you love?
Brooke suffers a manic break with a bloody result, Mel flees town with her lover. The bodies pile up while on the run, but can Brooke be saved?

Q: Do you think it is specifically difficult to perform in horror movies compared with the other ones?
JC: I think its way more fun :) Its certainly more emotionally challenging and draining for me since I am pulling from a darker place then I have to for other genres. Going that deep can sting, but its crucial to create a truthful performance.
Q: What do you usually have for breakfast?
JC: Coffee. Lots of coffee. More coffee.
Q: Acting as a dark and gloomy character in films... do you think that can change an actor’s personality for real?
JC: For me if they do, its only temporary and I shake off the character once the film is done. I do think you sometimes get to view life in such a vastly different way that your perception could be altered regarding certain view points. It can be fun though since you sometimes get a way with more because you are "in character". Come to think of that, its a convenient excuse and one that I have never used so I will have to keep that in mind ;)
Q: Would you define your lifestyle normal or maybe glamour and a star lifestyle?
JC: I would describe my life style as hectic, and insanely busy. Its certainly not glamorous at all. Sure when I am on a set or a red carpet I look the part. But the reality is that is such a small fraction of my time. Most days its my pajamas and laptop and if I am lucky I have time to shower. Many days I am not selfie appropriate, and those are usually my most productive days (You can not see me now but I am in deed in my pajamas and unshowered...)
Q: Do you believe in Aliens?
JC: Yes. Though I hope I never get to see any.
Q: In your actress career you’ve been acting many horror movies. What is your connection with horror movies? Have you always been a horror maniac?
JC: I have always loved to watch horror films, more so then any other genre. They have always been more fun for me. I love the roller coaster ride that they take you on. I love that they explore the darker side of human nature, which is a side that you don't (hopefully) get to see every day.
Q: Our audience want to know about your horror tastes… what’s your favorite horror movie and, if possible, your favorite director?
JC: I LOVE Martyres. The original (of course). I think that it is a master piece and it takes my breath away. If you have not seen it then you must, but do so on a night when you can devote it entirely to the film, its not for the faint of heart.
One of my favorite directors working today is Ricky Bates. He is brilliant. I loved Excision so much, its one of my favorite horror films of the last 5 years. His vision is simply spectacular and one of a kind. I am dying to see his latest film Trash Fire which premiered at Sundance and looks excellent. I have been blessed to get to know him, and he is also an exceptional human being.
Q: If you had to start over with another job what would you choose?
JC: I would own a cat sanctuary and spend my days taking care of hundreds of cats. Its still a dream of mine. On my bad days I threaten to disappear and do that very thing :)
Q: What’s the really good thing about being an actress?
JC: Being able to explore not only yourself but also all these other characters is not only fun but like therapy for me. Being able to make the audience feel is a wonderful thing. Also getting to travel the world promoting and making art is pretty amazing and I get to meet some spectacular people too.
Q: Are your superstitious?
JC: Not in ways that most people are. But I can not walk past money on the ground (no matter how little). I just always believed that if you do your telling the universe that you don't need money and there for it won't come to you. That said I also tend to be very lucky when it comes to finding large sums of cash on the ground and suspect that has something to do with it.
Q: Share a dream with us. About your work or anything else.
JC: I have a dream that one day I will walk into a room and be considered an equal to my male counter parts. Every day I work towards making that dream a reality. It will be a reality within my lifetime cause I intend to continue to fight for it!
